Join MORP for a hands-on pruning workshop in a historic apple orchard on Saturday, March 30 from 1-3 PM. Dress for the weather, wear boots, gloves, and glasses. Bring water and a snack, and a sharpened pruning tool if you have one. MORP will provide extras. Please know there are no facilities or cell service at the site.
Orchard location: Historic Gold Medal Orchard in McElmo Canyon. 17722 Co Rd J, Cortez, CO 81321. STAY ON ROAD J TO LOCATE THE ORCHARD. DO NOT TURN AT THE ADDRESS OTHERWISE YOU WILL END UP AT THE HOUSE.
Directions: From the Hwy 491 turnoff drive west into McElmo Canyon on county road G for about 8 miles; take a right or turn north onto county road J; cross the bridge; take a right; after about a mile, you will see the orchard on the right side of the road where McElmo Canyon joins Trail Canyon.
